Published: Smitten Magazine Fall 2013
Ahhh! I am (jump up and down, teary-eyed, call my mom) excited about our feature in Smitten Magazine with Jillian Zamora Photography. Thank you SO much Becky for choosing this photo shoot to include in your Fall 2014 magazine! So honored and over the moon to be a contributor. THANK YOU to some of the most talented vendors in Atlanta (and Texas, too!) for making things so pretty (more information below). Y'all are the best and I'm so thankful to work with you! Oh - and Jillian and James Zamora - I seriously cried when you left after knowing you for two days. I just have no words for how much I adore you guys or how much I love your work. How fun is it that you came from Texas to Georgia and we got to do this?!
About "A Lovely Lark"
Jillian and I started planning with one simple concept: birds. We didn’t want representations of birds at our shoot; we felt as though that had been done many times. Instead, we wanted LIVE birds. Needless to say, that idea was a bit too crazy. While brainstorming, I imagined a table runner made entirely of feathers. We fell in love with the idea of a neutral color palette with lots of natural, beautiful textures. We chose a simple industrial looking venue, The Brickyard, with amazing windows and white brick walls. It was the perfect blank slate!
After meeting with Stylish Stems, we were even more excited to see that vision come to life. Jacki of Stylish Stems suggested tall manzanita branch centerpieces covered in orchids, with hanging feather orbs. Stylish Stems added gorgeous ivory florals with amazing texture, floating candles, and a cake table covered entirely in moss. The cake table was my favorite part. A glass cake stand made Lush Cakery's rustic golden cake look as though it were floating over a bed of moss, orchids, and candlelight. It was stunning! Kelly at Robintreelane made our feather runner a reality. She admitted, at first, that she thought the idea was crazy, but the end result was so unique! Unlimited Party Rentals provided gorgeous linens, silverware, chargers, and gold chiavari chairs to complete our vision. Buzzy Craftery made invitations and menus that embodied natural glamour with elegant calligraphy, touches of gold, and twine. The handmade guest book by Yandi's Bindings was a touch I would absolutely recommend to brides… it was so beautiful.
A huge thank you to everyone who made this possible... and to Sarah Chancey, my former partner, for helping me execute the planning of this fun shoot! Tayla, I cannot thank you enough for modeling for us... you did such an amazing job! Of course, we gotta thank Brittney Dumas, the only reason why I ever heard of Jillian's work over 5 years ago. Love and miss you, Ya Ya!!
