Harbor Club on Lake Oconee Wedding: Beverly + Ben

Beverly and Ben, affectionately nicknamed B&B throughout the planning process, spent many weekends at Lake Oconee. Therefore, when it was time to celebrate their wedding weekend, a Lake Oconee destination wedding was the perfect fit.

We dreamed up a perfect palate of dusty blues and grays for this lakeside Bride and Groom. The paper goods, designed by a close friend of the Bride, featured a custom monogram that reappeared on signage, custom cups, and beverage napkins.

What could be more perfect for a destination wedding on Lake Oconee than Lake pajamas for the girls to get ready in? Pup of the bride and groom, Sanders, was also a special guest during photos and the ceremony. In true southern wedding fashion, no outdoor wedding day would dare forgo the tradition of burying the bourbon. It proved fruitful, as the couple said their vows in perfect weather at another beautiful Harbor Club venue.

The large tent featured smoke gray drape and delicate string lighting, complimented by pale blue linens, rustic wood, and textural white florals. Watercolored boats, hand painted by Kate Turner, adorned the table numbers and floated across the wooden bar fronts in garland form. A lace pattern of icing on the cake mimicked that of the bride’s timeless lace gown. Soft traditional elements were juxtaposed with modern touches, such as mixed material communal tables flanking the dance floor and dark metal lanterns.

The joy and celebration of the evening was captured by live action painter, Elaine Burge. A high energy band kept the party going all night, with guests only leaving the dance floor for a King of Pops popsicle or a visit to the surprise bourbon bar, a gift from the bride to the groom.
