Lake Oconee Rehearsal Dinner: Beverly + Ben

Inspired by many already memorable weekends spent on Lake Oconee, this Atlanta couple wanted to bring their frequent vacation locale into the atmosphere of their wedding weekend. The weekend flowed leisurely and joyfully, as do most weekends spent at the lake.

Their Friday night events, aptly themed “A Night on the Water” began with The Spirit of Lake Oconee, a double decker boat ride where guests could take in the natural beauty of the lake, along with craft beers and wine.

After a scenic ride, the boat docked directly at the rehearsal dinner venue, where a sunset cocktail hour spilled out onto the Boathouse lawn.

This casual boathouse on the lake was made warm and refined with gauzy runners, organic floral arrangements, watercolor table numbers, and hand-calligraphed place cards. These elements were paired with navy ticking napkins, which found themselves right at home in a lakeside boathouse.

For a touch of home while on vacation, the bride’s hometown caterer from Sandersville brought in a upscale surf and turf menu.  Later in the evening, all wedding guests were invited to join in the lakeside oyster roast as they listened to live guitar music from a local Atlanta musician.
